So, what IS the next big business idea? Well, that’s a great question. The answer is, there is no one single big business idea! Yup, sorry to take the wind out of your sails there, but its the truth. That’s more important. Now, before you get all sad faced, the thing to remember is you have options. This month’s idea is going to talk about the Food Delivery industry. You know Grubhub, Doordash, Uber Eats, the list goes on. Of course we’ve all used this type of service at some point, even if through a late night pizza delivery venture. The reason this is making it to our big business idea is the rate of it’s growth, let’s talk about that.

Over the past decade the technology has been the driving force behind the huge growth the food delivery industry has seen. Companies started out using flip phones and walkie talkies to make the business run. Now, the tech is so easy to find, it is all done via apps and smartphones, big difference huh. The long and short of the growth factor is this: the industry has grown steady for the past 10 years, and is forecast to remain steady growing for at least the next 5 years. I’m confident it will continue beyond that as well.

I can attest to this because well, I jumped on this bandwagon a couple years ago and was totally amazed at really how simple and relatively easy (generally speaking) to start a food delivery business. From website setup (the hardest part is finding the right platform), to gaining restaurant partners, to hiring drivers, to growing the business, in a nutshell, it isn’t that bad, you just need to know where to start. It’s tough to find a mentor so to speak on this type of business. Nobody really wants to give you the secrets and the in’s and out’s of how day to day operations go.
